In the many years it took you to get to your high school graduation, you couldn't wait for it to come. You thought about it endlessly. You thought about who might trip and fall while walking across the stage: would it be you, your best friend, or your classmate sitting next to you? Either way, you were going to laugh it out. You also thought who you'd be, what kind of person you'd turn into when you got to this pivotal point in your life. But most importantly, you thought about who would be by your side. To be more exact, who would be in your squad?
See, each squad is different. In my gang of gal pals, we are all different but the same equally. We did many crazy things together. We knew if we could conquer graduation and Panama City Beach together, we could conquer life together. I couldn't tell you how many off the wall things we've done together, parties, just a girls night, and overbearing parents...but we love them for it. We've been through it all, as most squads will.
You will be forever grateful for having this group of people with you on one of the biggest days of your life. They will be there for your next biggest day of your life and throughout your life. These people were brutally honest when you didn't want them to be or there for you when you needed a shoulder to cry on. Along with these people were the many teachers who inspired you so deeply. Many of our teachers were practically our best friends and we couldn't be anymore thankful for them.
Then you have your besties for resties that weren't in the squad but still meant a great deal to you. They were also someone you relied on heavily. You may have had your ups and downs, which made you gain the squad, but you know you wouldn't have it any other way. Because of those ups and downs, you have a much closer bond with them. These people will also be there for you no matter what, hands down.
After my graduation, my school holds an event called Project Graduation. Its an all night event and they lock us down until six the next morning for some seriously fun times. During this event there were fun games and laser tag. There were a million of prizes to win, stuff you'll actually want and use. I've realized how many people I was awkwardly close to and you will too if your school holds an event like this.
So will your graduation squad be as crazy as mine? I don't think so, but it will all be okay! Just remember these people will always rely on you and vice versa. Happy squadding!
