Everyone has a dream...

Why Your Dreams Should Be Your Reality
Finer Minds

Everyone has had a dream at some point in their life. It might've been something from your childhood or something so small that you completely forget about it a day later, but some dreams fester inside you. They claw their way to the surface of your thoughts every chance they get and stay there, making you think about them incessantly. When you think about this dream of yours, you can see beyond whatever is going on in your life at the moment and into your future. You can see unadulterated happiness, and feel it dribble into yourself slowly.

Why, if our dreams make us deliriously happy, do many people think they're unreachable? Why do people not take it upon themselves to make their dreams their reality?

Maybe they are scared of failure, or what others may think, but, truthfully, if living out your dreams will enrich your life, why let your worries stop you from making your dreams your reality?

I think having a dream is important. Some think that dreams are just dreams, meant to be left in the land of fairytales and magic, but dreams should inspire us and push us to strive for something we desperately want.

Everyone should find a way to make their dreams a part of their reality. Not only will you appreciate working hard for something, and bringing it into your life, but you will be making yourself that much happier.

Having dreams is like setting goals. It forces you to prove to yourself that you can do it, that you can change your life whenever you need or want to.

Dreaming isn't for the weak. Rather, it's for those of us with guts and a desire to fulfill our lives in all of the ways that we want. It's for people with open hearts and minds, and people who want the best life possible for themselves and those that they love.

I don't think reaching your dreams is impossible. I think it takes hard work and determination to never let yourself fall short of your own wishes and expectations for yourself. Some may tease you and try to convince you that you will fail, or that it's just not possible for you to reach your dreams – maybe they even want you to fail – but it is your dream, no one else's, so it is truly all up to you. Nothing and no one can stop you when you're determined to make your dreams your reality.

While dreaming pushes you and gets you really far in life, it is something sadly not common anymore. Life is so regimented, planned from the day you are born, but life is pointless if you aren't dreaming and reaching for those dreams; working your hardest to make yourself happy and accomplished in your dreamland or reality.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
