Having a cousin is like a built in best friend and a go to person in life. They’ve been there for as long as you can remember. They’re family, so they’re pretty much required to love you and you’re pretty much required to love them back. Even when you drive each other completely insane, you still love each other no matter what. Even if they’re 1,118 miles away they always have your back. They’ve been by your side through it all. Every vacation as a child was always to stay at your cousin’s house and you loved every minute of it. Your aunt was pretty much your second mother and spoiled you like her own. Your cousin is the only person who understands your crazy and dysfunctional family and never judges you for it. Well how can they? It’s their family too. With siblings you’re stuck living together 24/7 but with cousins whenever you need a break you can just go home and come back another day. If you live in different states, reunions feel like you’ve never been apart. There was never a dull moment when you were together and looking back on past memories never gets old.

Having a cousin who is also your best friend is great because you pretty much have a guaranteed bridesmaid for your future wedding. Whenever you need a listening ear, your cousin is always there for you and ready to hand out the advice. Thank you for always having my back and for never letting me down. I could never imagine not having you in my life and I am blessed beyond measure to have you as my best friend. I would never want or choose a better best friend than you. We may not see each other as often as I’d like but I know when we do it’s like we were never apart. I only hope that one day my children will be blessed enough to know you and to become best friends with your children. I hope they share a bond like the bond we have forever created.
