Why You Should Own A Dog

A dog is the only thing on Earth that will love you more than he loves himself.

Whether you agree or not, dogs are the most amazing creatures on this planet. When you come home from a long day at work, who is there to greet you when you walk through the door (with as much excitement as a child gets when they find out they are going to Disney World for the first time)? Your roommate? Your Mom? Your husband? No, probably not, but your dog is, of course! Your dog will also give you as many kisses (licks) as it takes until you forget about the long, awful day of work you just experienced and are smiling again. If you do not own a dog, I highly suggest visiting your local animal shelter and adopting one. You will not be disappointed with the best decision you have ever made, not to mention gaining a new best friend.

“The world would be a nicer place if everyone had the ability to love as unconditionally as a dog.”

Owning a dog really changes a person’s life for the better, and unless you own a dog, you will not understand. Owning a dog means that you can make the worst mistake of your life, but will still be loved unconditionally. No matter what, your dog will love you until the end of time. If you forget to buy your boyfriend or girlfriend a Christmas present, they will dump you quicker than you can apologize. This is why you need a dog. A dog does not require an expensive Christmas present like your boyfriend or girlfriend may, they are just fine with a bone, or ten.

“Dogs are better than human beings because they know but do not tell.”

Your dog will be your best friend, who will keep all of your secrets safe. They are amazing listeners and cannot talk, so next time you need to vent about your ex, go to your dog. As they say, a dog is man's best friend.

“Happiness is a warm puppy.”

This one is self explanatory. But if you are experiencing sadness in life, get yourself a dog and it will soon go away. Dogs get rid of sadness, and also lessen anxiety and stress from everyday life. Plus, there is no better feeling than holding your puppy for the first time.

A watchdog is a dog kept to guard your home, usually by sleeping where a burglar would awaken the household by falling over him.

Your dog will do whatever it takes to protect you. Being home alone isn't so bad if you own a dog. Their bark should be enough to scare a robber away. No worries if you own a small dog with a not-so-scary bark though, a "Beware of Dog" sign should be plenty.

Once you have had a wonderful dog, a life without one, is a life diminished

A dog will do many great things to a persons life, and one of these will be teaching you responsibility. After many years of successfully owning a dog, maybe you will be prepared for a baby. Or.... on second thought, maybe not. But no worries, you can just get another dog!

If all else fails in life, you could just become a crazy dog person. Anything is better than being the crazy cat lady... right ?

If you are looking for unconditional love, happiness, protection, and a best friend, than you really need to get a dog. A dog is also always down to go on long car rides and walks with you, so you will never be lonely again. If you have never owned a dog, I hope that this article has made you want one. If you already own a dog, (or four like I do) maybe consider adopting another. In life, I have learned that one can never have too many dogs. There are so many furry friends out there looking for their forever homes, so go to your local animal shelter and meet your new best friend.

All in all, if reading this article did not make you want to go out and adopt a dog, then maybe my four dogs: Angel, Dame, Chanel, and Bella can change your mind.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
