When it comes to movies, I have an interesting taste in films. Right? A 22-year-old gal into black and white films! Who would have thought? But it’s true! I love classic films. Films like "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid" or "Funny Face" or "Some Like It Hot" (yeah, that movie with Marilyn Monroe). I was lucky enough to be genetically inputted with the appreciation of old films, thanks to my father and his love of cinematography. But anyways, why should everyone appreciate old films? I’ll tell you why—because you should always remember and honor the past. Thanks to their innovations, we wouldn’t have films like "Titanic" or the new "Star Wars: The Force Awakens." Let’s take Walt Disney and his ingenuity of animation for example. Without his hard work and many trial and errors, we wouldn’t enjoy films like "Frozen."
For me, old films show a lot. The acting skills of Grace Kelly and Clark Gable are stuff legends are made of. The set scenes of "Gone with the Wind" are mesmerizing and full of art. I truly adore these old films because they show how far we have come to make movies. And what is lovely is that you see the raw talent in acting and also photography, costumes and scripts. Classic films holds so many genres: musicals, actions, cowboys, romance, Civil Era and so much more. Yeah, some are slow and take time to build the storyline. But if you are a hopeless romantic and love films with Audrey Hepburn and Fred Astaire, you will truly enjoy any classic film.
