1. We are just like you. We like the outdoors; we enjoy good food; we love to have a good time; we are all different and unique with our interests and personalities. The minute we step into the sorority house we don’t lose our individuality and become a mono-group that is only interested in wearing fancy dresses and petty drama.
2. You gain a great group of girls that loves to do stuff with you. This is especially a plus because a lot of the upperclassmen have cars and can actually take you places! We go on hikes, do laser tag, go to trampoline world, go the CC Cabin, and have many other ridiculous adventures.
3. We are not paying for our friends. We are paying for a home to gather in, fundraisers to support our philanthropies, and fun social events.
4. You meet upperclassmen. They tell you the ins and outs about what classes and teachers to take, they clue you in on all the good restaurants, and you get to go to their houses when there are not millions of people there.
5. Instant study buddies. When you walk into a class relief floods over you as you see one of your sisters sitting there. On the block plan, the key is recognizing someone in your class, so you can sit next to them on the first day, and pretty soon you are best friends and study buddies. Sororities immediately expand your network of people that you recognize and feel comfortable sitting next to.
6. It forces you out of the CC bubble. You get out in the community and help people for your philanthropy. We all know, as CC students, we probably won’t do something unless there is a deadline. Sororities give you that extra push to volunteer.
7. Consistency. The block plan is a madhouse of meeting poeple, becoming their best friend, and then never seeing them agian. You half recognize everyone, but are confused about who you can really call your friend. Sororities give you stability and 40 other girls that you can call friends. You see them every Monday for your whole time in college. It gives you a breath of fresh air and a beautiful community.
8. Connections. You have great connections and support after you graduate, at the national level!
9. You get to dress up like a real lady. We all love the toga parties, but sometimes it's really nice to be able to show off that adorable Sunday brunch dress and new high heels. If you are not in a sorority, CC doesn't provide many opportunities for looking classy. Even if you don't enjoy it, it is great practice for the real business world out there.
