In high school all anyone ever wanted to date was the big, giant football player. Sure they might be popular and really in shape, but have you seen Carrie Underwood's hunk of a husband? Mike Fisher, who just so happens to play for the Nashville Predators! Football Players are all great in high school but as you grow older you're going to want a real heartthrob.
1. They are always in shape, in and out of season.
Hockey players work out like it is second nature, everyday and anytime that they can.
2. Everything he does, he does it with his team.
If he is loyal to his team, don't you think he'll be loyal to a cute girl? Plus, every relationship needs teamwork and there is no other thing that he's good at other than being apart of a team.
3. The hair, omg.
What girl doesn't like the long hair that they always get to push back. And hey, if it doesn't look that good, you can make fun of him because odds are he probably just has a classic hockey hairdo.
4. His teammates.
He doesn't do anything without his teammates, so it's basically like they're your teammates, too. Plus you get to be their cheerleader, too!
5. The crazy things hockey players get themselves into.
From my experience, there isn't one day that they don't get themselves into some silly predicament. From smashing someone's car to having parties with people door to door.
6. They're hot.
Every single one of them are hot. I'm not joking.
7. When they get hurt, you can take care of them.
Trust me when I say that 90 percent of their games lead them to getting some kind of injury and they love it because they look so tough. Don't let them fool you though, they love when they get their boo boos kissed.
8. You get to be their personal cheerleader.
I was told once that going to every home game is probably one of the best things you could do for your hockey player. Your support goes a long way when your significant other is doing something they love wholeheartedly.
9. His love for hockey inspires you.
Most college hockey players have been playing hockey since they could walk. They eat, sleep and breathe hockey and it makes you question if you could ever love anything as much as they do hockey. Watching your significant other talk about hockey makes you want to find something to be obsessed with, too.
10. Hockey runs their life, so if they chose you to be with them, you're important.
I am not kidding when I say that their lives are nothing but hockey, but when a player commits to a girl, they see it as something just as important as the game. They have to make time for you just like they have to make time for hockey and if you can understand that, they won't take that for granted and neither should you.
