The feeling of being alone in the pursuit of a dream that you so desperately want to achieve is, in itself, enough to make you question your worthiness. The worthiness that as a kid you saw with so much confidence and courage as you profess what it is you want to be when you grow up.
As a child, there is no lack of believing that you can’t be what it is that you said you were going to be. There is no disbelief in your ability, but instead an endless imagination to the possibilities of being a doctor, lawyer, photographer, nurse, to work for yourself and anything that you could set your mind to. Your mind was big, your hopes were bigger and your heart was the biggest. Then somehow, as the years pass by, it seems as though those dreams slowly start to slip through your fingers as people and life tear your spirit away. Through negative people trying to tell you what you couldn’t do, who you weren’t, not supporting you, or bad life circumstances that tore you down, that dream you once had seems nonexistent by the time you start high school.
You begin to feel as though your dream may not be possible, and begin to question who it is you are, the direction your life is going, and what it is you want to do. It seems as though you feel lost, you feel fed up with life and everything around you. You feel as though your dreams won’t ever happen, and that you may end up having to settle. You may feel like the choices you are making have nothing to do with what you originally wanted, you long for someone to just believe in you, for someone to just tell you that your dreams are still possible and that your life is not over.
You want to feel worthy, you want to feel loved, you want to feel understood, you want to feel accomplished, and you want to feel that you are actually living your life instead of just existing. All you want is to just feel as though you are being the best you can be and executing yourself with all that you can offer in life.
You simply just want to know that you can make it, you simply just want to let go of the things people told you, the things that have happened, and just be who you are. You just want to be free to be you.
Well, being you is possible. The ability to be free is possible. Your dreams that you had as a child, whether you still want to be what you originally wanted to be or you have grown a passion for something else, are still possible. Letting go of the hurtful things that have been said or have happened to you is possible. Living a life based on how you see yourself, and not worrying about other people’s opinions is possible. The things that you desire for your life don’t have to end just because there are things that have happened to you, or because someone else doesn’t believe in your abilities, passions, gifts, or visions. The things that you want for your life, only become possible if you choose to believe in who you are above someone supporting you or not, above someone telling you who you are, above trials and tribulations. Your purpose, your destiny, your dreams, is a part of who you are. They are meant for you to live them out -- they are meant for you to experience them because they were designed specifically for you.
You should never give up on yourself, you should never settle for what life says that you should have. You should never allow someone to tell you what you are capable of. You should never let life beat you up, that you decide to give up. You should never let other people’s opinions dictate how you see yourself. You should never think that you are not good enough to chase your dreams. You should never feel unworthy to live the life you have always imagined.
You should see the power of who you uniquely are. You should see that you are capable of doing and being anything that you set your heart and mind to. You should see that even though you have been knocked down by life a few times, you can always get back up. You should see that the things that people have said to you to try to tear you down were more a reflection of them and don’t make you who you are. You should see that you only have one life to live, so why not give it everything that you have.
You should see that you are worthy of getting everything good out of life, despite mistakes, flaws, and anything else.
You should see that life needs who you are because you are the only one who can give life what you have to offer.
Don’t give in or give up but instead, give life all you have and show the world who you are.
