In 2001, one of the greatest movies of all time was released. In 2015, this movie was brought to Netflix. The movie? "Legally Blonde."
Sure, I might be just a little biased because of the involvement of Karen McCullah Lutz, an Alpha Gamma Delta Alum, but really, this movie is one of the greatest movies ever made, especially because it involves a sorority girl. When the film begins, you might think that Delta Nu president Elle Woods is going to be vapid and dumb, because that's what all sorority girls are like, right? Wrong, very wrong, and Elle Woods breaks down stereotypes one by one within one hour and 36 minutes. She's the type of sorority woman that we should all aspire to be like, and here are 14 reasons why.
Everybody likes her. This one's a given.
She doesn't let anyone walk all over her. Remember that store clerk that tried to take advantage of Elle's blondeness and tried to sell her that dress for full price? Elle wasn't having it.

She has supportive sisters. From manicures to cheer her up, to late night study sessions, to being there when she gets her LSAT scores, Elle's sisters are always there for her. And that's something that's irreplaceable.
She's compassionate. She hardly knows Paulette but within minutes she's ready to help Paulette get custody of her furbaby back.
She's really compassionate. When David Kidney is awkwardly trying to talk to a girl, Elle doesn't have to step in. But she does. They're not really friends, but he's floundering, and she knows just how to help him, even if it might involve slapping him.
She keeps it clean. Everyone today seems to talk like a sailor, but Elle keeps it classy both when she's making fun of “butt-head" Emmett or her “bonehead" ex-boyfriend, she keeps her language pretty PG.
That being said, when she does curse, she has pretty good reason. Y'know, like when her scumbag professor tries to hit on her. Even when she knows it could make her life easier, Elle wants nothing to do with Professor Callahan and his creepy wandering hands.
When faced with adversity, she still tries to be nice. There's always going to be people who talk negatively about Greek life because they don't understand it. Elle chooses to turn the other cheek, and not prove any negative stereotypes right by acting out.
She's not afraid of a challenge. While her efforts are misdirected towards winning back Warner, she soon directs them at proving Brooke's innocence and proving that there's more to her than blonde hair and big boobs.
She feels comfortable using legal jargon in everyday life. And we should all object to sexual harassment.
She shares her knowledge with others. Come on, the bend and snap has a 98 percent success rate of getting a man's attention and when used appropriately, it has an 83 percent rate of return on a dinner invitation. With great power comes great responsibility, and not everyone would be willing to share that power, but Elle does.
She proves that hard work triumphs over everything. While Warner got in to Harvard due to a roman numeral behind his name and a couple phone calls from daddy, Elle got in by pulling late nights and sacrificing some of her favorite things.
She has faith in others. Despite the mounds of evidence pointing to Brooke Windham-Taylor, Elle refuses to believe anything that doesn't come from Brooke herself. Sisters before misters, even your ex-boyfriend, professor, and a cute guy like Emmett.
And, she has faith in herself. It's very tough to succeed if you don't even believe in yourself, and Elle knows that.
From now on, channel a little Elle Woods into everything you do. Go forth with your knowledge and share it with the world, or go watch "Legally Blonde" on Netflix. Whichever.
