Yep, you read it right. I think we need to stop being politically correct. We are so concerned with making everyone happy that we are losing sight of what is actually important and right. What's important and right is the future of our families, the freedom of our different religious groups, and the sense of belonging for all for types of people. But those things don't have to be achieved by making everyone happy. Because as soon as we start trying to please everyone, that's when people and groups are targeted. There is not a single group that hasn't been targeted. All have been impacted: Christians, Muslims, homosexuals, transgender, whites, blacks, young and old.
I want to make sure that this is clear, I don't know exactly how I feel about the gender-neutral bathrooms or guns or any other "problem" that has been on the news. What I do know is that these things seem to be causing more harm to people than good. I have seen a lot of people say that guns don't kill people, people kill people. I agree, I think there are a lot of good benefits to having a gun around and that people should be able to have one for protection if they feel like the need one. In order for that to work, we have got to stop being politically correct.
When the Orlando shooting happened, I was watching the news all day, video after video, article after article. One one of the broadcasts that I was watching, there was an older man talking about how they used to take someone in for questioning simply because they associated with communism. They hardly had to have any plausible reason to question someone because that is how they kept people safe. The man that shot all of those people in Orlando, he was on the FBI's radar in 2013. Because they didn't have any evidence to support their hunch, he was no longer under watch. Now, we have 50 dead and hundreds traumatized.
We can't make everyone happy and we certainly can't be afraid to offend people because as soon as we are afraid of that, that's when people lose their lives. There has got to be some sort of awakening, some sort of understanding that there is just no way in the world that we are going to please everyone and there is always going to be someone who is offended. We have to protect people and do what is right.
We lost people that had a lot of life left ahead of them because we are so set on being politically correct. Unfortunately, we are doing more harm than good.
