The 2017 March for Life might have seen its best turnout yet. Celebrating over 40 years of marching has marked a glorious day for those who believe "life is winning" as Mike Pence does.
The march itself lasted just under three hours while the rally began early in the morning. Guest speakers spoke in terms of high hopes for the future generations. The march was expressed through people of all ages. Children, teens and adults worked together to march for what they believe in. The march itself was full of life and love even through the bitter cold weather.
People who accepted interviews openly discussed why they believe abortion is a misfortune. Pro-life marchers attend the march to be the voice for the voiceless. The march itself is a different type of march. No one is marching for their own rights, but for those whose were taken from them. A strong group of men and women stood at the beginning of the march with signs that read "I regret my abortion" or "I regret missing out on fatherhood". Whether you're pro-life or pro-choice, these men and women are pure examples of the consequences that come with abortion.
Abortion is a topic that many people try to avoid discussing, and I don't blame them. It is yet another topic that is so difficult to discuss without offending someone else's beliefs and political views. Many people who were pro-choice also attended the march and held signs by the supreme court. These two differences in opinion did not collide. They respectfully saw each others' claims on the topic and moved along with their own. This march is globally known as one of the most peaceful marches to walk through our capitol. This election and march might just be the start of a new founding hope for these pro-life supporters.
