Why Vloggers Are Important

YouTube is a cult phenomenon many have come to know throughout the years. You can find anyone from comedians to beauty gurus to people who fart for views. Yeah, look it up, it exists. My personal favorites are the vloggers, or as I call them "the sit down and be real with you" people. You may ask why they are so important and that is what I am here to tell you.

1) Let me elaborate. "The sitdown and be real with you people" are those that tell you how it is and don't tell their audience lies no matter what it might cost them. You'll know you've watched this person when you hear the words "I'm just gonna be real with you".

2) They treat their audience as if it were their own kid. No, I don't mean this in a creepy way but if one of their followers tells them they want to hurt themselves they would feel pain as if it were their kid. That's genuine and that's real.

3) It shows the audience that just because they have a huge following that doesn't mean they live better.

4) They're relatable just by vlogging. Meaning they do all things we do. Imagine finding out Shane Dawson goes to the same grocery store you do. After you calm down, realize you thought that was never possible and how weird that is. I don't blame you I feel the same way, it seems impossible but it is.

5) Family and friends. You realize they don't have many people they spend time with either and that your life really isn't that bad. It's okay to spend your days with the same people as long as they aren't toxic to you or your family.

6) Cute kids. The cute kids they have are always a bonus. That is if they have kids but if they don't that's okay too.

7) It's not weird when you know almost too much about them. If they care then that's a bad vlogger, they either are too private or don't actually care about vlogging everything.

8) You feel like you are part of their family and have known them for years.

9) They know how to make you laugh when they didn't know you needed it.

10) They show the light at the end of the tunnel. Truth be told a good vlogger does talk about their past life and most of them had it anything but easy growing up. Just by showing their daily life they show their audience it does get better.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
