I'm not a huge country music fan, but I like Thomas Rhett. More importantly, I like his relationship. He and his wife, Lauren, are absolutely adorable together. Basically, they are #RelationshipGoals and here's why.
Their Story is a Fairytale
Thomas and Lauren have known each other since first grade. They have literally grown up together and slowly fell in love. *cue tears* They dated briefly when they were 15 but young love has ups and downs, and their relationship at the time didn't last. The two remained best friends and stayed in touch throughout their teens and early twenties, all while dating other people. They each almost got married to other people, but Lauren's dad knew the couple better than they knew themselves. He called Thomas and told him to tell Lauren how he felt, and that was it. Six months later they were engaged, and got married in 2012. It's been happily ever after since then.
They Are Madly in Love
If you need any evidence of this, just look at their photos together. They are almost constantly smiling and the way they look at each other makes you want to swoon. I'm not a gushy person, but their relationship hits me right in the feels because you can just tell that they are so genuinely in love with each other and that is kind of inspiring in today's jaded world. If you need further proof, just watch this video for Thomas Rhett's #1 hit “Die a Happy Man," an ode to Lauren where he literally professes that all he needs is this life is her love, crazy or otherwise. I mean jeez, how much sweeter can it get?!
They've Started a Family
They are not only expecting a child, as Lauren is currently pregnant but they also just adopted a daughter from Uganda. Finally, they are just really good people. They are such a humble and down-to-earth couple despite Rhett's fame, and their story, their family, is all so normal and wonderful. They've taken everything that life has given them and turned it into something beautiful.
Long story short, this couple is amazing. Keep doing you Rhett Akins fam!
