Contrary to popular belief, taking your classes online does not mean you "have it easy".
In fact, being an online student can often be more tough than a traditional student.
My lectures aren't spoken to me, I am expected to read through a slideshow and very seldomly watch a video presentation.
I don't automatically have time blocked out for me on when I have to go to class - leaving it simple to figure out when to study, work, sleep, and eat.
I can't just ask one of my classmates a question about an assignment and get it answered right away.
Same with my professors - I actually have to wait anywhere from 24-48 hours to get an answer most times!
"Discussions" are a bunch of students posting their thoughts, but nobody actually reading them in full, just enough to respond to get your points.
Exams are extremely hard. (And you have to pay to take them if you are taking them off-site!)
You'll probably have to study longer and harder before an exam, because you won't get the luxury of listening to a professor talk about the unit topic.
Nearly every assignment is due on a Friday or Sunday - so kiss that weekend of socializing good-bye.
It's much easier to procrastinate, resulting in a more stressful Midterm & Finals week.
So, before you say, "I'm gonna take online classes so I can just breeze through school", remember it still requires just as much, if not more work.
You'll have to schedule out your weeks based on assignment due dates, exams & quizzes, projects & when to study.
You'll probably spend a lot of Sunday's stressing out and wishing you had just taken regular classes.
And you very likely won't have a Spring or Winter break.
*GASP!*
