Have you ever envisioned your life going in one direction, but it turns out differently than what you imagined it to be? You have spent years planning ahead of time, deciding when and how you would do things. You have put serious thought into when you would be ready for marriage or having children, yet as you become older, you realize that no one can truly prepare you from life’s curveballs. Based on my own experience in dictating how I would live my life, I would say that I was unsuccessful with the planning. Instead, I have come to find out that following my heart has led me to this beautiful life that I live now with no regrets and tremendous wisdom.
It is healthy to live spontaneously sometimes. Taking chances helps us learn from our mistakes and mold us into who we are. If you keep repeating certain things, then there is a lack of mystery and that can create boredom. Spice up your life every now and then. Take a trip randomly to a country you never been to. Explore the depths of the ocean to see the wonderful organisms living there. This applies to not just your romantic relationships, but trying different things for your sake can be beneficial.
Acknowledge that there is no right or wrong way. Do not let someone bring you down by judging you on how to live your OWN life. My husband and I were in our early twenties when we were married. With my lack of experience with relationships and us being duo military, the odds weren’t in our favor to succeed. However, we knew what we were getting into before hand and we could not be any happier. As Katy Perry said in her hit song Teenage Dream, “no regrets, just love.” Do whatever makes YOU happy.
Slow and steady wins the race. Sometimes, you can be in a situation that unexpectedly postpones you from achieving your dreams. Do not give up hope. There will be a time for you to continue finishing your goals. Do not rush success because it is not a sprint to the finish line. This is for everyone who has had a problem with weight loss, overcoming an addiction, going to college, recovering from an injury or illness, etc. Everyone is destined to do great things and make a difference. Listen to that person who says you can’t do it and use it as fuel for your motivation.
In a world where violence is around each corner, it is important to recognize that having control of your life may not always happen. There is so much uncertainty in surviving nowadays with the police shootings, the terror attacks in France, the massive attacks at the Pulse nightclub in Orlando, and the misuse of weapons. Now more than ever, we should concentrate how we can live our lives with as much happiness and peace as possible. We might not live to see tomorrow, so why not live our lives to the fullest in honor of those who can’t?
