In television, more specifically sitcoms and comedies, it is rare to find a strong, realistic womanly figure to relate to. But in the beloved sitcom ‘How I Met Your Mother’ we follow one of the main characters, Robin Scherbatsky, in and out of relationships, jobs, living situations, and other dramas and she always without doubt is an impressive figure to look up to. Here are some examples as to why:
She never conforms. Whether she’s a Canadian popstar, a struggling news anchor, or a scotch enthusiast, Robin always sticks to her values and stays true to herself.
She’s so wise. Robin always has the best and most genuine advice for her friends, but also isn’t afraid to tell them when they’ve messed up.
She never lets her friends make fools of themselves and make them go after what they want.
She’s career driven and incredibly motivated.
Sometimes she gets real, because not every day can be a perfect one, but she owns it.
And she doesn't hold back her rage, speaking her mind whenever she needs to.
She appreciates the essentials in life.
But most importantly, she’s independent, proud and happy to be just her, and that’s a quality we could all use a little more of.
