When It Rains, It Pours

I have a theory that goes something like this; for every rainy day we have is a day/time that calls for a cleanse, of the mind, heart and soul.Sometimes rainy days can cause us to feel gloomy, fragile or maybe even a bit isolated but you know that's not always a bad thing. Here's how my theory comes to play; and by play I don't mean on the puddles no no but in the beauty of what it means every time it start pouring rain..

Every time it rains, I look at it as a chance to remove anything that may causing me doubt, or pain. It's a good day to sit back, slow down and just breathe. As for me it's like "KEEP CALM AND ENJOY THE STROM, FOR THERE WILL COME A BEAUTIFUL RAINBOW IN THE END". Or like this saying that goes, “it may be stormy now but the rain doesn't last forever”. It's short and simple, for me it means no matter how hard the storm hits meaning any problems or situation you may be in, you will make it through so get it all out however you know best cry, wallow, scream, ect.. Sometime after you take that first step you will find yourself looking at the good thing that come once you learn to let things go just like the beautiful rainbow that comes after the storm. Your life will only get better from that point on. I know not a lot of people will see this the way I do, or take the time to try but I would encourage you too give it a shot. Get rid of any toxic people or things that are causing you pain or doubt.

See I know this might seem crazy but it took me standing out in stormy afternoon a couple years ago to not only see it but also feel the beauty and meaning of a standing outside in the midst of a storm. It was 7 years ago to be exact and I had just moved to Virginia, I was having a really hard time adjusting here and I was in distress. I got to the point where I just wanted to be able to accept it and find peace so I can be happy. I didn't want to be sad any longer, I began to pray at night to find peace in my heart. Then a couple days after, mind you it was summer at that time but this day a thunderstorm came pouring down hard that afternoon.

You might be thinking how bizarre right? Or maybe if you live in a state in the U.S. with similar weather madness you will understand. Well then, all we can do is embrace it, breathe it love it! So then things just got crazier from that point on! In a good spontaneous way of course, Here's what occurred to me, in the middle of a massive storm I decided to go out and "dance in the rain" and let me just tell you It was the most liberating feeling in the world. Yes rain pouring down hard on me was awesome! I promise I'm not crazy just hear me out. So then all I could do was lift my hands up in the air and look up at the sky, I had found that happiness just in that moment, it was very special because I was desperately seeking for it and it felt as if that storm was sent just for me. I am a strong spiritual believer, good vibes always and standing out there in the middle of a storm was like a shower my to spirit, and water my soul. There's no better way to put it. I know it's seems a bit silly but that's just it, sometimes in life you have to allow yourself to step out of your comfort zone and trust that something good will come out of it! That's exactly what I did, It was magical for me and it can be the same for you too.

Form that moment on... every time it rains I'm happy not only because of my crazy memory but also because as any hopeless romantic like myself, we can only ever dream to be kissed passionately in the rain by the man that we love!! If there is one of course, if not we can only wish for it to happen one day. The rain has really done good justice for me all around so I will never complain about it. I enjoy hearing the sound of it to me it's symbolic, its quite and peaceful almost as if everything around is going in slow motion. It inspires me, it reminds me to be open minded to all things going on in my life. Some of the great things I've written have been during a rainy day, or storm. It's beautiful all around for me so I would like to challenge you to try it you will feel great.

So there you have it, the lesson is to not let any tuff situation in life take the best of you. Hopefully this can also help you change your prospective about rainy days, or maybe an idea of how to take advantage of them in a good and positive way. Use these days to cleanse any negative vibes, clear them out from your heart and soul, learn to accept the things you can't change and strive on to find the happiness you solly deserve. Like they say “you can't have a rainbow without a little rain”.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
