Why 'One Tree Hill' Is Completely Ridiculous

One Tree Hill's Biggest WTF Moments

Why 'One Tree Hill' Is Completely Ridiculous

The TV show One Tree Hill is basically a soap opera for teenagers. All kinds of crazy stuff goes down on this show, and laws don't seem to apply in this town.

1. Peyton lives alone.

Peyton's dad works abroad, and is only actually home for just a couple of episodes, leaving a minor alone for months and months at a time. In reality, child protective services would be all over that. Especially after Peyton gets a stalker, you'd think that some kind of adult home supervision would be required. Apparently not.

2. Brooke lives alone.

Seriously, so many neglected minors in this town. Throughout the show, Brooke goes from living with no supervision, to moving in with Peyton (who lives alone), to living with Rachel (again, alone).

3. Skills, the walking stereotype.

He does nothing but play basketball, and he ends every sentence with the word "dawg". Is there any actual purpose to this guy? No, not really.

4. Getting married and having a baby in high school is easy and a good idea.

First of all, according to OTH, if you're in love with someone, just marry them. It'll work out. Also, Nathan and Haley seem to have have no problem getting someone to watch their kid so they can go to school and parties. He still plays basketball, and she's still a cheerleader. Apparently, having a baby in high school does not change your life in any way. Also, let's not forget the fact that Haley basically married Nathan so they could have sex, #judgingyou.

5. Everyone finds success right away.

I totally support showing characters on TV working super hard and having that hard work pay off. But seriously, Haley sings at the cafe and suddenly she's headlining a sold out world tour? Then, when the show moves forward, all of the characters are super successful in their dream jobs, pretty much right out of high school.

6. Calling the police isn't important.

Through blackmail, crazy stalkers, and even murder, no one ever calls the police. Instead, everyone just tries to take care of these things themselves, and they they maybe will call the police after all the stuff does sown. Why?

This show is absolutely ridiculous, but I have to admit, I still love it!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
