Honestly I think that everyone says this about their parents but this is why mine are above the rest.
They listen to my music. No matter what genre it is or how loud I am yelling the lyrics they always nod appreciatively. When I ask them what they thought I never get an answer that makes me feel bad about myself. I am encouraged to keep being me and listening to what I want.
They would drive me around anywhere. Even though I have my own car, if I needed to go somewhere and I didn't want to drive they would put their shoes on no matter the time and haul me around just like before I got my license.
They let me have my pets. This one is a dumb one but as much as I love my animals, it is necessary. They allow me to coddle them even though they are laughing at how dumb I look talking to a chicken. They know the importance of the bond between me and my animals and they treasure the fact that I take care of those creatures and their lives.
They do basic parent stuff. Like making me food and doing my laundry when I am too lazy. They let me sleep in on the weekends when I am home and let me and my siblings fight it out when it is necessary. They let us fend for ourselves, at least for a little bit, and it helps us as we grow older to be able to solve our problems.
They trust me. They know that if I say I am going somewhere, that is where I will be. They trust that they held build a good, smart, and common-sense-filled person that will be able to take care of herself. They let me know that they trust me and they believe in me.
They take pride in being my parents. They tell me as often as they can that they are proud of me and it is something that never gets old. It is awesome knowing you have these people in your corner, but knowing they back your decisions and everything you are doing makes it even better.
They love me. This one is obvious after all the latter points but I know that they do. I am so happy that I am their daughter and I am proud of that fact. I am proud of everything they have done for me and my siblings.
Overall my parents are the best there is. They brought me into an amazing family dynamic and I would never want to change how I grew up, or anything that happened. I am so proud of everything my parents have gone through and are still amazing people. I am proud to be able to tell the stories of our hardships and how we worked through them as family and how absolutely powerful a family can be. I am proud to be a daughter to the best parents around.
