Keeping up with the news is just as easy as keeping up with the latest text message you receive, and Tweet, Instagram or Snapchat you post. Reading the news requires nothing but an 8th grade education. News is everything going on in the world. News is politics, entertainment, style, sports, economics, arts, culture and more.

There are a lot more problems going on in the world than what we are facing in life, especially on our college campuses. The news is constantly exposing stories that spark so much conversation. Becoming more involved with reading the news has changed how I view the world. It is so important to educate yourself about the news, and to form educated opinions and thoughts. As far as a professional career goes, generations before us think that we (Millennials) do not know much about what is going on in the news. Keeping up with the news, will not only improve your personal knowledge, but also the respect given to you from older generations.

We are the voice of our country. Our government addresses issues based on what the people want. With the presidential elections coming along, it is important to be educated about who we are voting for. This person will be the leader of our country. It is so important. Vote, but vote after being educated.

"Millennials And The News" is a Facebook page that is easy to navigate through. It filters some of the most popular articles released that day from different news outlets. This is how I began getting more educated about the news. I originally thought reading the news was dreadfully boring. Now it is the first thing I read in the morning. You should too!

TheSkimm is another outlet that is a favorite to many, including myself. It goes straight to your email every morning. They use clever puns, anecdotes and word choice to make the news seem more interesting. TheSkimm makes international issues a million times easier to understand. If you do not know much on foreign issues, such as the Middle East, jumping into Fox's latest article is not always the easiest to follow. This is also free, so all you have to do is subscribe!
