If you know me, you know I am always saying things like "Do you girl!" or "Okay yeah, do you." Those words are something I tell my friends, remind myself of, and truly try to live by.

"Doing you" is essentially focusing on yourself, your health, your success, and your overall well being. I think a lot of us think we have to please others or do things because other people want us to. But, we aren't necessarily doing those things because we want to. Why is that? It's okay to say no, especially if it means bettering yourself.

If you come to the realization that you're not happy, sit back and reflect on why. Is it because you aren't doing what you love? Are you focused on less important things that are consuming your life? Whatever that thing may be, cut it out of your life. If it isn't bringing a smile to your face every second of the day, you don't need it.

I know for me personally, being in college, it's a time when the word "selfish" is thrived upon. It's okay to be selfish. I'm not saying treating your friends and family poorly (because let's face it, you couldn't go through life without them), but I am saying do only what you want to do. Be selfish.

If you don't "do you," you will never fully understand yourself, what really makes you happy, or how to live your best life.

So, take some time for yourself and do so. Believe me, once you do, you'll be golden.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
