Why It Is Important To Be Close With Your Sibilings

Whether you have one, two or five siblings, you know about the unique relationship you all have. It is a choice to be close to your siblings, and it is the best choice you will ever make.

After being in college for a few months, having a loving relationship with my siblings has been my saving grace, and I know that will continue for the rest of my life. Some people think that they are not very close to their siblings, but you are closer to them than you think. You have seen each other grow since the day you entered this world. Could you imagine life without them?

Your mom probably put you in the same bathtub when you were little. If you are the younger sibling, you probably got the hand-me-downs. You and your siblings have probably fought over who the favorite child is too. There were also times that you probably hated one of your siblings and thought you would never talk to them again. Nevertheless, how long did that last? Like three hours? Yeah, that is exactly what I thought. A lot of people do not realize it, but a sibling bond is inseparable and unbreakable. And let's not forget that they still talked to you when you were going through that awkward middle school stage of life, and you should probably thank them for that.

There is something so unique about your relationship with your siblings, you have your own special bond. You have weird inside jokes that nobody will understand, probably ranging from one-liners from TV shows you grew up on, being able to sing Disney songs from movies word for word, or some moment that you were an idiot and your siblings will not let you live down. Ever.

It is still fun to look at baby pictures for hours and see the hilarious faces we made as little kids, or how crazy our hair was. And also talking about how much things have changed, and how grown up we all are. Our childhood passed in what feels like 10 minutes, but being able to reminisce is the best part. You have your friends that make you laugh, but there is another kind of humor with your brother or sister. It is purely genuine. Knowing you have your siblings to always make you laugh is a great feeling, and laughing until you cry is a usual thing when you are with them. Being away from home, the anticipation of seeing them and just being able to see each other without having to do something crazy and extravagant is pure bliss. Simply being in each other's company is enough, because in the end, our family is all we have in this crazy world.

To my brother and sister, thank you for everything you have done for me my whole life. You have shaped me into the person I am today, and I am thankful for that every day. I miss you every single day that I am not with you, but being able to call you my brother and sister is such a privilege and something I feel blessed for all the time. Thanks for all the laughs and memories, and here's to many more. Love you, xoxo.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
