Why Your Sorority Needs A Photographer

I have never met a woman who doesn't like pretty pictures of herself, I simply don't think it exists. So when you combine 100 sorority sisters together, then it is a guarantee that pictures are a necessity. The problem is many of these sorority chapters do not know how much having a professional photographer in the budget would help out any chapter. Here are a couple reasons for any Greek organizations to hire a photographer.

1. Composites

Composites are great for sisters to have and hang up on their walls/fridge for all to see. They also provide sisters with professional headshot afterwards to use for various applications. Almost every chapter I have heard of completes a composite every year, and if you hire a photographer for other photo shoots then they might cut you a deal on the composite.

2. Sisterhood bonding.

Doing photo shoots every month is a great way to get all of your sisters together in one spot where they are actually having fun vs being in chapter. There is tons of laughing and group planning when it comes to poses. Plus, it feels great to look your best, while matching with your sisters.

3. Great Facebook profile pictures.

Who doesn't love to have a new Facebook profile picture or cover photo to publish? Usually, there are chances during these shoots to sneak a nice portrait of yourself or small group with your sisters.

4. Recruitment

Your rush chair will love it. While searching for a sorority to join many PNM's will look up the sororities on-campus and if they see great pictures, then there's a higher chance that they'll like y'all more.

5. Social media presence.

When your sorority runs multiple shoots a semester then you end up with hundreds of great available photos to post to your various accounts. Plus then you don't have to steal photos from sisters accounts, or rely on phone pictures for all of the ones on your Instagram.

Special thank's to the Eta Rho chapter of Sigma Sigma Sigma sorority for hiring me as their photographer and allowing me to post the photos in this article. I took all of the photos except for the composite.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
