1. Stars Hollow

Stars Hollow is the fictional town setting of "Gilmore Girls." It’s a small town set in Connecticut, and is the cutest, homiest place ever (even though it isn’t actually real). The residents of Stars Hollow all know one another, every single name and neighbor. No one's business stays secret for long, as it spreads along the gossip train of limited residency and relative small-town boredom like wildfire. The show pulls you in and makes you feel like a resident. Watching "Gilmore Girls" is like getting a personal seat at Luke’s Diner next to the two heroines, as they conquer the mundane yet satisfyingly relatable tasks of everyday life. You get to be a part of the quaint small town and its cheer as you experience each holiday’s festivities, and watch as the square changes from season to season. You fall in love with the town and all of its residents very quickly. Letting go and returning to the hustle and bustle of the real world can be hard.
2. The Relationship between Rory and Lorelai

Rory and her mother Lorelai Gilmore are the two main characters whose lives we follow throughout the show. Lorelai had Rory at 16-years-old, so they are very close in age and because of that, the bond they share is more of a friendship than the conventional parent-child relationship. They are best friends, and share everything with one another. They face various trials and tribulations throughout the show, and are always at one another’s side to back each other up and live through the growing pains of life together. I love their relationship because it reminds me of the relationship with my own mother, and how close we are. Watching these two characters interact on screen gives you all the warm-and-fuzzies, and you hang on to every conversation they hold. The relationship and love they have for one another is ideal in every aspect, and it's fun to watch the unconventional be so celebrated throughout a very successful seven seasons of "Gilmore Girls."
3. The relatable characters of the show

The characters of the show are unique in that they begin to feel like family as you become attached to each of them throughout the series. Their personalities and the writing done in relation to their stories and characteristics draw you in and almost demand an emotional investment. From the quirky Miss Patty to the loveable Luke, you can’t help but feel like a part of the small town and the people in it. You fall in love with the unique relationships between characters in the show, and the way in which they play out throughout the series. The relationships are intimate and complex in just a way any one of us can relate to, bringing to heart a nostalgic sense of recognition into one's own life and personal relationships.

Essentially, this show is about the life of a girl and her mother as they navigate their lives in the small town of Stars Hollow and beyond. The premise may seem rather mundane, but the show manages to draw you in with its familiarity and appreciation for simplicity. "Gilmore Girls" is the greatest show on the planet because it doesn’t have to try to create a reason for you to care – you care because you see yourself in its stories, and you become a part of the town yourself. The show forces you to invest emotion into the people that are a part of this cast, and you fall for them all every time you start a new episode. "Gilmore Girls" is a tribute to life and to growing up, and learning about yourself, a theme we all can relate to.
