This medieval show has seemed to catch the eye over millions in the past few years, making it one of the most watched TV shows of all times. But why? What makes some weird fantasy show so great? Well that's what I'm here today to tell you.

The show started back 2011, airing its first season and is based on a book series called, "The Song Of Fire and Ice" by George R.R. Martin. The TV show got it's name from the first book in the series, which is called "A Game Of Thrones". To make a very long story short, "Game Of Thrones" (GOT for short) is a series about various characters' plot lines and the need for power in the make believe land of Westeros. This causes for much controversy, death, and plots twists with each conflicting plot line.

The first season has a way of attaching you to this series, in a way you never thought was possible. For me, since I didn't read the books ahead of time, I had no idea who was who or what was going on. After you get the initial important characters down, like the Stark Family (Jon Snow included), Theon Greyjoy, The Lannisters, The Targaryen Siblings and a few more, you start to feel a certain way about each character. The Stark family is the base of the first season and it's endearing to see such a happy family (aside from the bastard problem), you begin to love them as they love each other. While you love some characters you will also hate and wish death on others. That seems a little morbid but you will at least witness one death per episode, so it becomes pretty normal.

I remember someone told me to not get attached to important characters, because GOT has a way of killing off your favorite characters with no remorse. But this is next to impossible, because the characters basically wrap themselves around your finger. The death of important characters will kill you either way, so you must be prepared for anything (like I said, plot twists are a thing). This is another reason why this show is so great, it can kill off one of the most important characters of the show, but still go on to be brilliant.

Not only are characters on the show so great, the actors themselves seemed to be perfectly picked for each part. Example one:

Tyrion Lannister is portrayed by the one and only Peter Dinklage. I couldn't imagine anyone else playing this incredibly smart, drunk dwarf as well as him. He is the comic relief at most times and is one of my favorite characters.

Ah yes, the legendary Jon Snow, played by Kit Harrington. Kit has a way of making Jon one of your favorite characters. You see Jon's vulnerability, making you feel for him and his honor, making you feel proud of him. Whatever it is, Kit made Jon one of the most talked about characters of all time.

Daenerys Targaryen played by Emilia Clark is one of the most powerful women on GOT. Emilia honestly slays at being Daenerys, a powerful leader and an inspiration to all. By recently seeing her in the movie Me Before You, I was shocked to see how well she can play polar opposite characters. This makes her being Daenerys ten times better.

Speaking of strong women, GOT has got plenty. GOT does portray women in ways that are not always great. Since this show is set in the medieval times, poor women have zero over men and prostitution is the norm. The main women characters blow the stereotypes of women of this time out of the water.

All of these powerful women shown above have proved themselves worthy of being more than just someone's wife. Brienne of Tarth (far right) is a lady who could be one of the best knights in Westeros, Arya Stark, (left of Brienne) is a trained assassin, Daenerys (as mentioned above), has fire breathing dragons and I could go on, but you get the point. All of their plot lines lead to them having power. Everyone of these characters have overcome the ill treatment of a man, proving to others and themselves they are strong on their own. Yes GOT does show women being degraded, but if you are looking for a show that celebrates women, GOT has these six, (also Yara Greyjoy is another great example of a powerful women) to show you how badass women can be.

Even with all the great women power and amazing cast, the show is also incredibly vial at points. What I mean by that is there are very gory moments, and lots and lots of death. Like I said before, you do get use to it. It become easier to watch someone get their head cut off after the 5th time it's happened. Also, the violence usually all pertains a purpose. You aren't going to see an innocent die unless there is a purpose behind it. This makes the gore easier to watch.

The show also has the most amazing graphics. After they got through the 2nd season, the show moved onto different locations and more sets at a time. They film in Belfast, Northern Ireland, Malta, Croatia, Iceland and Morocco. These beautiful places lead to beautiful shots in the show. The infamous wall in the show is in Northern Ireland and may even become a permanent fixture that you can visit. One of the most breath taking shots in my opinion is at the end of episode 8 season 5, called 'Hardhome' (I won't spoiler anything but wow).

The series just finished it's 6th season, and the 7th is scheduled to premiere early June. That gives you about 10 months to watch and catch up on the first 6 first seasons. If my coworker can watch all 6 seasons in 2 weeks, you can do it in 10 months. With all the gore, women, family bonding and amazing scenery, this show is a must watch.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
