Why Family Is Everything

Your family has been there from the very beginning. They have watched you take your first steps and encouraged you to say your first word. Our family has seen us at our worst, and they haven't judged us. They are our people. They are our anchors that keep our feet on the ground. They are our sails that help us take flight. They are our everything.

Family is everything.

They love you when you are hard to love. They love you when you break their heart. They love you when you say rotten things or make the wrong decisions. They love you even when you yell that you hate them. Your family loves you every single day, each day in the same way. They choose to love you. Through the good and the bad, family loves you even when you are hard to love.

There is nothing like a home cooked meal that your grandma made for you. And I mean NOTHING.

Time spent with family is never wasted. Whether it be for several hours or just a few minutes, time spent with family members can make the heart feel so full.

They do not expect anything from us. Your mom read bedtime stories to you when you were too young to understand what they meant, but she read them anyway. Your dad taught you how to ride a bike, even if he had to run up and down the street more than a dozen times. Grandma and Grandpa spoil you silly. Whatever you what, they feel entitled to get it for you, simply because you are their grandchild. Our family gives us their time, love and more, and they ask for nothing in return.

Friends will leave, but family is forever. We will fight with our family. We will yell at the top of our lungs when they make us mad. We will go days without talking to them because we are just too "busy". We will do things to our family that friends would never accept. We don't mean to, but we still put them through hard times. However, no matter what, they will never leave us behind.

Family is there from the beginning, and they will be there until the end. Tell your family you love them. Always remind them. Never take a single day spent with your family, for granted.

They are all that we have.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
