Why Every Woman Should Embody Alpha Chi Omega's Symphony

Alpha Chi Omega rejoices over their symphony and the tradition that comes with it. The Symphony reflects the ritual and sincerity of the sorority. The piece has grown to be very popular, both within and outside of Alpha Chi Omega. The Symphony flows smoothly and reminds every woman of the reasons she strives to become the best version of herself. The Symphony is so powerful because the women of Alpha Chi Omega do their best to incorporate these powerful lines into their daily lives. The women of Alpha Chi Omega don't just say it, we do it. Here is why every woman, Alpha Chi Omega or not, should live by The Symphony.

To see beauty even in the common things of life

Take the time to look around you; to appreciate things that you may have overlooked initially. Take every negative situation and turn it into a positive one and remember how much you are blessed. We have so much to be thankful for.

To shed the light of love and friendship round me

Show love to everyone, wholeheartedly. Be a best friend, confidant, and sister, even when it is hard. All people deserved to be loved, and you deserve to show your love. Be the sunshine on a rainy day.

To keep my life in tune with the world that I shall make no discords in the harmony of life

Be one with everyone and everything around you. Learn and grow with the ever-changing statues quo of society. Be the difference that makes its point through class and sincerity, not sass and obscurity. Be someone that other women strive to be like.

To strike on the lyre of the universe only the notes of happiness, of joy, of peace

Be positive and uplifting. We all have upsetting situations, but it is how we handle them with such grace and ability that sets us apart. Don't be afraid to smile and laugh because the world is a good place. You deserve to be happy. Be whole, be genuine, and be poised.

To appreciate every little service rendered

Take the time to say thank you. Thank your family, your friends, the man who held the door open for you and the woman who lent you her umbrella in the downpour. If you are grateful for the people in your life and for everything they do for you, make sure they know it. Sometimes we get so caught up in this fast pace culture we live in that we forget to slow down and just be appreciative for people and what they do for our wellbeing.

To see and appreciate all that is noble in another, be her badge what it may

Every woman deserves to be emboldened, encouraged, and empowered. Every woman does not just mean every woman in your chapter or every woman in your family; it means every single woman. Be the woman that makes a positive impact on another woman.

And to let my lyre send forth the chords of love, unselfishness, sincerity

Love, unselfishness, and sincerity are three words that should be in the back of your mind at all times. Be a woman who is loving, unselfish, and sincere. There is nothing more powerful than a woman who is beautiful on the inside and the out. Carry these three words with you every minute of every day and do your best to practice them in your daily life.

This is to be my symphony.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
