If you've never watched legally blonde, whether it be the movie or musical, I highly encourage you to go do it right now. Elle Woods, is the main character who is highly admired for her determination, fierceness, and confidence. In this movie, we saw her transform from a sorority girl all the way up to a magnificent lawyer. We all rooted for her throughout this great film. Elle Woods is the lady that we should all look up to as our role model. Especially during the times where we are told that we can get anywhere when we have "a nice piece of ass".
Elle Woods is loyal to anyone and everyone. She never breaks a promise or tells a secret. During the movie/musical, she has a client by the name of Brooke Wyndham. When Elle's boss tells her to find her secrets and expose her, Elle does find her secrets, but she refuses to tell anyone.
She has bold confidence. She knew she would make it into Harvard, and wouldn't let anyone tell her anyways because of her love for her ex-boyfriend and herself.
She never settled for less than she deserved. She followed Warner to law school and tried to win him back, but she does end up realizing how horrible he treated her and kicked him to the curb right away. His comments to her were obnoxious, for example, he said he needed somebody "classy and not too tacky" or a "Jackie and not a Marilyn". You go girl for standing up for yourself!
She fought to be a great lawyer, and would you look at her now. When everyone told her she was better off being a sorority and dumb girl, she fought back. She knew who she was destined to be, and wouldn't let anyone stop her from achieving this. That is something everyone should strive to do.
She wouldn't let stereotypes stand in her way. We watched her begin as the odd girl out, but she soon transformed into a normal boring girl, but she soon realized she was a catch when she was just herself. She wasn't going to stand for Warner only wanting her if she changed everything about herself.
Elle and Paulette are the original #friendshipgoals. They perfectly balance each other out by always listening to one another. I mean, Elle taught Paulette how to do the "Bend and Snap" so she could win her man over, if that doesn't define an awesome friend, I don't know what does.
She is the feminist we all envision to be like. Elle breaks the gender status quo. First, she was a woman becoming a lawyer, and at that, she was a sorority woman. Second, she was blonde. She not only crushed the gender stereotype but the trait stereotype. Elle, proved that you can be blonde, pretty, and from a sorority and still be the fiercest lawyer there is. We as woman, can do anything and everything, if we set our minds to it.
She got the man of her dreams, without relying on him for anything. Lets just make it clear that Elle and Emmett are the cutest dream couple ever to be. Emmett accepted and help bring out who Elle truly was, and she did the same for him. Emmett never once, doubted Elle and thats just # goals.
Lets all take a moment and just bow down to Elle Woods, and to ourselves. Lets never let a man, or anyone for that matter (because lets not forget Vivian's attitude towards Elle), stand in the way of who and what we know to be true. We are the best and only versions of ourselves, and we can't let anyone take that away. So if you're struggling with any of these things, take a few notes from Elle.
