Why Does Justin Bieber Receive Negativity?
Bieber Army

Justin Bieber is one of the most famous recording artist/musicians in the world. He has surely made his mark on this world; everyone knows who he is. We are all lead to believe he lives this glamorous life, full of fame and fortune. However, his life is not as easy or glamorous at it may appear. There’s more to him than his charming looks, and million dollar lifestyle.

How many times have you stumbled across an article that negatively portrayed Bieber? How many times have you heard rumors, or seen tabloids of Bieber exposed across magazine covers? How about the reoccurring insults, “Justin Bieber is gay” or “Justin Bieber has no talent.” We’ve all seen it. It’s almost as if the media is just waiting for him to crash and burn. No matter what he does in life, he will be judged, simply because his name is Justin Bieber. Of course Bieber has gone through rough times, and made his fair share of mistakes, but who is to blame? Nobody is perfect. We all make mistakes. We are all human beings. Why is it okay for us to treat a celebrity with so much disgust, hate, and negativity? This would be considered bullying if it was done to any other person, not in the spotlight. So, why is it okay to belittle a celebrity? If people would just stop for a second, and think about what it would be like to be in the shoes of Justin Bieber, would it change the way they treat him? Why are we so worried about the life of a celebrity, instead of worrying about ourselves?

Justin was thrown into the music industry at the young age of 12 years old from a small town by the name of Stratford, Ontario (Canada). Justin was raised by a single mother, Pattie Malette, who struggled to make ends meet. He began singing in front of the Avon Theatre located in Stratford. This is where it all began for Bieber. His mom started posting videos of Justin on the internet, on his YouTube channel, referred to as “Kidrauhl.” She did not do this in hopes of Justin getting discovered, but rather to show his family the local singing competition in which he took 2nd place at. Little did Justin know, he would soon become a mega pop star sensation. Justin quickly went viral after being discovered by his manager, Scooter Braun. Bieber literally started his career from strumming a guitar, on the steps, outside of the Avon Theatre. Justin didn’t know what he was getting himself into, but he took the risk. He wasn’t given the normal opportunity to grow up the same way typical kids do. He had to learn how to transition from being a kid from a small town with a dream, to a kid that was selling out Madison Square Garden, and breaking records by the minute. He has come so far, and it’s beyond crazy to think about where it all began.

He has broken more world records than anyone would have ever imagined possible. He is a living legend. Bieber doesn’t get enough credit. He is one of the most hardworking artists in the music industry. He is currently on tour with his world “Purpose Tour.” Bieber is performing shows basically every night, and in return, giving a high-energy performance full of singing, dancing, instruments, and interaction with fans. The Purpose album signifies Justin’s journey of re-discovering his purpose, and where he wants to be in life. The lyrics of these songs are truly powerful, and cast a true inspiration to those that listen to his music. Songs titled as “Life Is Worth Living” and “I’ll Show You” in which he sings about being human, and real. Bieber recently sprained his ankle while playing a pick-up game of basketball before one of his shows, but instead of taking it easy, he still gave a phenomenal performance, with the same energetic dancing as usual. He is so dedicated, and remains positive even through all of the hate he receives.

Previously, he cancelled his meet and greets for his Purpose Tour. Bieber got so much unnecessary hate for this. Many artists have cancelled their meet and greets, or made other significant changes to their careers, but they will never receive as much ridicule as Bieber gets. He made this decision because he was feeling physically and emotionally drained and didn’t want to let his fans down for the way he was feeling. There were many instances where Justin was poorly treated, and it became overwhelming to continue. There is no doubt that Justin loves and adores his fans, but when he gets treated as if he’s a zoo animal, it’s necessary for him to feel drained and exhausted. He shouldn’t be shamed for taking care of himself, and stepping back for a second to take a breather. Stop and think about all the times Bieber has been asked to take pictures, or has been bombarded with people pointing their cell phones at him. What happened to respecting another human being’s personal space, and privacy? It has gotten to the point where he can’t even go to the bathroom without someone asking him for a picture.

He wants nothing more than to be treated like a normal human being. People portray him as a “douche bag” that believes he’s superior to other people. When in reality, he’s only seeking for people to treat him like a normal human being. Instead of having people invade his privacy, and shove their phone in his face, how about asking him how he’s doing, or greet him with a simple hello. Bieber is constantly in the spotlight. A little break from the public, to feel an ounce of sanity, shouldn’t be asking too much. Bieber may be an insanely successful artist, but that doesn’t make him any less human than the rest of us. He shouldn't have to pay the price for his well-deserved fame. He deserves to be treated with dignity and respect, and to feel the slightest bit of normal at times.

Before you judge, put yourself in someone else’s shoes. No matter whether this person is a celebrity, or a person like you and me, look beyond the exterior. We all face our own trials and tribulations, that others fail to notice, due to unnecessary judgments.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
