Cosmetics companies are raking in billions of dollars because we, as women, have found it absolutely imperative to buy, wear (and clog our pores with) makeup.
This is an expensive phenomenon. Not to mention, there is no accounting for all those pieces of stained clothing, damaged skin, and just the removal of natural beauty of women altogether. Granted, as early as Biblical times, we have been applying color and the lot to our faces.
But my question is - at what cost?
We shell out so much money on eye shadows, face powders, and lipsticks, just to invest more in makeup removal items - just to take said products back off of your face! I find this to be a vicious cycle at best.
Now, don't get me wrong, ladies - for some, there are valid reasons to apply cosmetics to cover the skin. For example, people with vitiligo, burns and severe scarring of facial tissue. Other than things like this, is there really a need?
Cleaning your face properly, without using harsh astringents, will suffice - there's nothing wrong with a little lip gloss either. In doing this, you will save thousands of dollars. Yes! Thousands. Don't believe me? Go to your makeup bags now, add up the prices of your products, and get back to me. I would love to hear your feedback, really.
If you're not ready to make such a commitment, just try it out for a week and check out the results for yourself. Everyone will notice the difference as well. At the end of the day your wallet will be thicker, your skin will appreciate it, and you will have embraced the natural beauty that you truly are.
