Why I Consider My Dance Team My Family

Ever since I got into college, I wanted to start dancing again. I had stopped dancing after middle school and since then I had missed it. It wasn't until my junior year, going into my senior year of high school, that I started dancing again. I realized how much I loved it when I was going to dance classes again and being able to express myself through movement.

When I first applied to Salisbury University, I looked at different clubs that I could join. When I went to Admitted Student's Day, the first group I saw was SU Poms. I thought they were so cool, and there was a possibility I could try it out. But when I moved in my freshmen year, I went to the Student Activities Fair and met the president of Untouchables Dance Inc. Since the start of my freshman year, I have been on Untouchables.

What I love about being apart of Untouchables is how much of a family we are. When I first joined, I was nervous, shy, I didn't know anyone and I was worried that I wouldn't like it. Now, I have met some amazing people who will most likely be a part of my life forever.

Another thing I love about Untouchables is the fact that I'm surrounded by other people who love dancing just as much as I do. Once we finish our performances for the semester, I miss my team members; we get so used to seeing each other more than twice a week.

Although there may be times where we could be at each other's throats or we want to end rehearsal so we all can go home, at the end of the day we wouldn't be a team without the remarkable team work and the love we all have for each other— and I wouldn't want to have it any other way.

I can't wait to start again with my team and create some new dances to share with everyone. Who we?!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
