With the recent bit of slightly cold weather we received during the few rainy days, it made me realize how much I missed—no, how much I yearned for the cold weather to come back into my life. Cold weather is truly the best type of weather, whether you'd like to admit it or not.
1. The Holidays
First of all, the holidays that are generally associated with cold weather are fantastic. The cold weather season kicks off with the horrors of Halloween, goes through the gratefulness of Thanksgiving, the festivities of Christmas, the celebratory New Year's and finally slows off with the (mostly) lovable Valentine's Day. I mean, there's just so much fun, family and love within a few months that you can't hate it.
2. The Food
There's just some foods you can eat all year long but will not actually taste right until cold weather kicks in. Ah, how I crave the delicious tastes of pumpkin pies, ham from Christmas dinner, perfectly blended soups, gooey s'mores, Thanksgiving turkey and much, much more. It's the perfect time of year to drink up all your apple cider, eggnog, hot chocolate and pumpkin spice lattes. Just let me live in the world where this food is perfect year-round.
3. The Ambiance
The vibe that the cold weather brings is just so...warm. I know, I know, how contradictory, right? With the frigid coldness in the air brings the warmness of the fires in the fireplaces and candles on our shelves. All the autumn and winter scents ranging from cinnamon to peppermint to salted caramel to vanilla to sugar cookie to evergreen, you just can't help but to let your nose indulge in these classics.
4. The Clothing
Ah, the fashionable cold weather clothes that everyone loves. From scarves to boots to vests to hats to mittens, there's always some way to style or wear it to make it your own. It's so easy to dress for the cold weather. If you're having a bad hair day, just throw on a beanie; no one will notice. If you don't want to look like a slob but don't wanna put effort into an outfit, just put on a pair of boots and a nice hoodie; it's comfy and such an easy outfit. One of the most important things that make cold weather much better than the hot weather is the clothing. In the cold, you can pile on all you want and get warm. In the heat, you can take off all your clothes, and you will probably still be hot (at least here in Georgia).
5. The Weather
Okay, yes, obviously the weather is the best since it's cold, but cold weather brings lots of other goodies as well. Wondrous rainstorms are perfect becase you can stay inside bundled in a blanket burrito, reading a good book or binge watching Netflix. As we are in Georgia, I can't say too much for the snow. We get exhilarated at the prospect of it, but as soon as it's here and causing trouble, we want it to all go away. Once it's gone, though, we desire more of the crystal flakes to create white blankets outside.
