After being in college for four years, I had to live with random roommates for most of my time in college. Going into my freshman year was so scary because I didn't know who my roommate was going to be. Luckily we got along really well and that made my freshman year so much easier! Even though I'm a super talkative person, I was so nervous to live with someone I didn't know. Thank goodness for my first random roommate!
Then when I moved away from campus and decided to study in Washington, DC, I had to get random roommates again. Those wonderful ladies are some of the greatest people I have ever met in my entire life. We got to goof around and wander around the National Mall and basically just be best friends. I will always treasure those memories with those ladies!
Now here I am two years later, living in Florida on my own. Before moving here, I wasn't sure who my roommates were going to be and I had no idea how I was going to find roommates. Luckily social media was able to help me out and I started talking to some amazing girls, who just so happen to be my roommates right now. We've already made some amazing memories together and I can't wait to see what's in store for us in the upcoming months.
I'm truly so blessed to have been lucky when picking random roommates. The people that I've been able to live with are some of my best friends and I'm sure they'll be in my life for the rest of time. Living with random roommates was seriously the best decision I've ever made, because those people have helped me to grow as a person and have helped me through the good and bad times. A lot of people are nervous about living with random people, but I'm here to tell you that it's going to be perfectly fine and you'll hopefully be best friends with that person! Living with random roommates taught me so many lessons and it helped me learn how to deal with people, especially in conflict situations. Just because you don't really know each other doesn't mean you can't get through something together.
Don't be scared to get out of your comfort zone and live with someone you don't know. You never know what could happen. They just might be your best friend. They might be in your life for the rest of your life. You never know what could happen. It's completely worth it to live with someone you don't know. It truly has been an incredible experience to live with my amazing roommates, and it truly has been the best decision I've ever made.
A big thank you to the amazing ladies that I've lived with in the past four years. I wouldn't have made it through college without those ladies.
