Though One Tree Hill is obviously fictional, it provided some very insightful life lessons. Because it is based on young kids as they grow up throughout various stages in their lives including high school, college and adult life, we are able to see how each character grows up and achieves their hopes and dreams. While each character does evolve into a more mature and better version of themselves, the character that shows the most improvement is Brooke Davis. Brooke starts out as a spoiled, easy, ditzy cheerleader, but throughout the series she becomes a strong, independent, intelligent and talented business woman and mother. She is proof that you can change the person you are if that's what you truly want. Here are a few reasons why Brooke Davis should be your role model.

As mentioned above, Brooke Davis had the biggest transformation out of all of the characters on the show. One day she realized that she didn’t like the person she was, so she decided to change. Granted it took more than a day or a week for this to happen, but she did it. And when people judged her based on who she was to the public eye or who she used to be, she didn't let it stop her. She took matters into her own hands and became a person she could be proud of.

Brooke Davis is tough. Throughout the show, she had SO many obstacles, heartbreak and challenges thrown at her. From her boyfriend cheating on her with her best friend and her parents losing their money to not being able to have children and losing her own company. Though, she never gave up on anything. Despite all of these roadblocks, she persevered and still found happiness and success.

Brooke Davis is loyal. She is honestly the most loyal character on the show. Her best friend and boyfriend betrayed her not once, but TWICE. And she still forgave both of them and even gave her blessing for their marriage. Her mother was a nightmare to her for most of her childhood and adult life, though she still let her be a partner in her company. Heck, her mom was even the reason behind Brooke losing her company, though she still let her help with Bakerman. Though her closest friends and family constantly let her down, she never once lost hope.

Brooke Davis keeps it real. She always spoke her mind, whether to a teacher, boyfriend, her mother or a friend. She was never afraid to tell the truth. She let people know what she thought was right and wrong, and she never took anyones crap.

Brooke Davis knows her worth. Though she was not nearly as confident in the first few seasons as she was in the last, she knew how she wanted to and should be treated. She didn’t take other people’s excuses and lies. She knew that she deserved better than that and she fought for it every day.

Brooke Davis is a spokesperson for real women. She started with “Zero Is Not a Size” and continued to back it up with whole clothing line around that slogan. She knew that very few women actually wore a size zero and made it okay if you didn’t. She promoted healthy instead of skinny.

Brooke Davis knew how to fight for what she wanted. She wanted a clothing line, so she fought for it. She wanted to be able to defend herself, so she fought for it. She wanted a family, so she fought for it. She knew what her hopes and dreams were, and she never lost sight of it. She did what she had to do to get what she wanted.

Overall, Brooke Davis was one inspirational women. She is proof, though fictional, that you can do anything you set your mind to. She was a good friend, daughter, aunt, wife, mother and business woman. She juggled so many things and people in her life, but she never got tired of it. And when life got hard, she didn’t run. She became a “one in a million” type of person. Lucas said it best in "An Unkindness of Ravens", “Brooke Davis is gonna change the world someday. And she doesn’t even know it yet.”

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
