The percentage of high school sweetheart relationships that actually stay together is very small, but I have hope. My boyfriend and I have been together for over three years now and I really don’t want that to change. He is my best friend and is just perfect. I really like hanging out with him because although he aggravates me, he makes me happy. He is the best, best friend because there is so much less drama with him, I can tell him all of my secrets and not feel worried about him telling people, and he just so entertaining to be around. He is what keeps me together, I wouldn’t say he is my favorite hobby because that just sounds weird, but he is the best person to be around at anytime.

A guy best friend in general is usually so much better than a girl because guys just act so much more casual. They don’t really look into situations in so much depth like girls do. With a boyfriend best friend, he will be honest with you and care about your feelings and still make you feel like everything will be okay. You can do the most embarrassing thing possible and he will still think you’re the most beautiful and perfect person out there. Boyfriends are there through thick and thin, they understand when to give space and understand everything that’s going on in your life, he basically keeps me whole. Another great thing about having your boyfriend as your best friend is when he really aggravates you, you’re not afraid to tell him, you know he will fix what he did just to see you happy. You can actually show that his opinion is annoying, which you can’t with a girl best friend. If it wasn’t for my boyfriend, I probably wouldn’t have posted half the selfies that I do. He is always someone who will give you an honest opinion on which one to post and you will always know he is going to like it. A boyfriend will be the greatest and worst person in your life sometimes, but in the end you know he will always have your back.

With my boyfriend being my best friend, it just feels right. It finally feels like everything is in place, what makes it better is that he gets along so well with my family. We both understand what we are doing and why we are doing it, but it’s not like we are that perfect couple, some things just seem to make sense. I think the greatest factor of our relationship isn’t the actual relationship - it’s the friendship that it brought with it. I may have gotten a boyfriend out of this interaction but what really matters is that this is the best friendship I have ever had with someone and that’s never going to change. When your boyfriend is your best friend, you love being around him even more because it is just so much fun. My boyfriend is one of the greatest things that has happened to me, to say the least.

In the end, girls need to have that one guy friend or those few guy friends they can talk to about their girl friends because girls all the time can drive you crazy. Guy can give great advice and be there through the rough times. My guy friend just happens to be my boyfriend, he helps me when I’m struggling and keeps me laughing when I need it. Some girls might say they hate boys or they love having no guys in their lives but everyone needs that one guy friend. My favorite activity to do is just stay at home and hangout with my boyfriend, it’s that simple. I’m really happy I found my boyfriend and even though statistics are against us, I feel like I can just tell he is going to be with me for a long time but in all reality, time will tell.
