Why Best Friends Are Just Like Cats

Whether you're a cat person or not, cats share many similar tendencies as our best friend.

Why Best Friends Are Just Like Cats
Iams

They say that dogs are a "man's best friends"... But I am pretty sure that my best friend is a cat. Cats have very distinct tendencies and attitudes towards life that seem to resonate very well with my best friend. Although I have never seen myself ever owning a cat, I somehow ended up with one... And she isn't all that bad.

1. She is my go-to backup

I luckily have never been on the receiving end of her bad side... And I know for a fact that I never want to be. But I know that if someone ever does me wrong, she is the one I will go to to have my back in any fight.

2. We bond over food... Often

We eat when we are upset... Or happy, or bored, or when we are shopping, or doing homework, etc. We eat just about all of the time there is food in front of us.

3. She is always down to lay low

Whenever I need a night to just relax and chill, I know exactly who to call.

4. But she is also a good time

She also always knows all of these unique and fun things to do, like to build a crate table or go to a model's rummage sale. Like a cat that just got a hold of some catnip, she goes all out when she wants to go on an adventure, and she never disappoints.

5. She tells it like it is

Very similar to a cat, she can be brutally honest when she knows what is good for you. She has no problem leaving your feelings out of situations when she knows your messing up. It'll sting a little, like when a cat refuses to cuddle you and instead tears up your carpet. But in the end she knows what's best.

6. We show each other off

We take pride in one another and like to give one another credit for their hard work, just like when cat ladies take pictures of their kittens in cute outfits and show all of their friends. Go best friend, that's my best friend!

7. She is my siamese

It turns out, we are oddly alike, and we compliment one another very well. Such as our love for retail therapy and marshmallows, we have weird, unique things in common we can easily bond over.

Somehow, through my deep love of dogs, I found a soft place in my heart for cats unexpectedly. Like most friendships, we don't expect them to turn out the way they usually do.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
