Everyone always wants to be the older child. They like the idea of being "in charge." The idea that they can boss around their younger siblings. Twins constantly argue over who is older by the second. However, being the youngest truly has all the perks. The older siblings are guinea pigs.

1. No Curfew

As a younger sibling, you go to bed the same time as your older sibling. This is because your parents don't feel like dealing with you complaining that your older sibling gets to stay up. So by the time you are old enough to have a curfew your older sibling doesn't have one anymore. Therefore you do not have a curfew. Your friends that are the older sibling with always complain how unfair it is. But it is not your fault you were born to be the youngest.

2. Personal Chauffeur

Need a ride? Call your sibling. They can drive and you can't. If they want to use a car than the rule is they must drive you around. Pretty great rule if you ask a younger sibling.

3. Free life advice

They already went through the stages of life before you. So, therefore, there is plenty of free life advice to go around to make sure you don't mess up like they did.

4. Off-limits TV shows/movies never existed

The ratings on TV shows and movies never applied to you. Rated R? So what your sibling was watching it and so were you.

5. Parents are more lenient

Your parents have given up on being "strict." They tried to discipline your oldest sibling, but by the time you come around they are done trying. It is more like stay out of trouble is the rule. If you do that, then you are doing well.

6. Older siblings are the guinea pigs

If your parents want to try anything it is on the older siblings. If they want to try a chore chart or a curfew your oldest siblings are the one to try it out. Thank goodness.

7. The upperclassman already know you

As much as you hate it or love it the upperclassman will constantly call you "little <insert last name here>." You do not have a first name to them you will always be little + whatever your last name is. But it has its perks. On the first day of high school, you already have upperclassman talking and saying hi to you.

8. Free stuff

Need a sports jersey? School gear? And don't want to buy it? Just go through your siblings closet. They already bought it so why not take the free stuff. Then you can just hide it in your closet so it becomes yours. Or if you're in college just take it back to your dorm room after break. You get new clothes with no cost.

9. Always got a look out

You always someone looking at for you. Older siblings do not like nor let anyone mess with their younger siblings.

10. Usually, parents side with you in arguments

Younger siblings usually win the fight. No one knows why, but usually, parents side with the younger one.

11. No rules

Just as it sounds. Younger siblings have no rules. It's a free for all.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
