When you think of the holiday, I’m sure your thought is about the jolly music and great movies. However, this is the time of year that is especially difficult for people dealing with eating disorders. One of my the first thoughts is holiday weight gain.

If you are suffering from or are in the recovery process from an Eating Disorder I’m here to assure that you are not alone. It may feel like you are and that no one understands what is going through your head, but that’s not the case at all, I promise. It is a topic that is extremely hard to talk about since its hard to find someone that get what you're going through, or fully understands what an eating disorder is. I am letting you know that I have been there, and some days I still going through it. Just remember that recovery is a journey and not a marathon.

People view eating disorders as glamorous or people seeking attention. I am here to tell you I know that isn't what you're trying to do, and I know the thought process you may have. It is so much more than the food, which is a hard concept for people to understand. People's use of the word anorexia is used so lightly that it isn't taken seriously, especially when you are personally going through it. It seems like a simple task to just eat to others, but I know that it isn't that simple. Don't let that discourage you and try your best to stick with what you have been doing before this time of year.

Going through an eating disorder is hard, but honestly, recovery is the best gift you can give yourself. I for one didn't believe that recovery was possible I thought I was in too deep. It really is possible if you actually want it.

I can’t forget about those who continuously support us throughout the year, and especially through the holidays. Thank you for listening to us when we have a rough day when the eating disorder seems to be unbearable. Thank you for trying to understand the disease, even though I know that it's sometimes hard for you to comprehend. Thank you for letting us cry, and understanding that just eating is harder done than said. We appreciate you and the time you give to support us.

If you think that you or someone you may know is going through this please seek help. Also visit: http://www.nationaleatingdisorders.org for the hotline and other information.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
