Miss Columbia dethroned after Steve Harvey accidentally announced wrong name.

Sunday night, people were shocked when Steve Harvey accidentally crowned the wrong woman Miss Universe. Harvey is known for his sarcastic and judgmental humor when hosting Family Feud. This mistake brought about some funny gifs and memes, as all public embarrassments do. The worst part? Miss Columbia had her crown taken off her head on live TV. So yes, finals week sucks but at least you didn't get de-crowned Miss Universe, or accidentally crown the wrong woman Miss Universe.

Miss Columbia handled the situation with grace and poise as she was nationally dethroned moments after being crowned the winner.


After apologizing repeatedly on air, Harvey later tweeted another apology:

Moral of the story? Double check what name you're announcing before saying it on national TV.

When I was learning how to talk, I was taught both Portuguese and English at the same time. In elementary school, I started taking mandatory Spanish classes, which I did well in because of my knowledge of Portuguese. Then in high school, on top of taking Spanish, I also started taking French. Now, in college, already fluent in English and Portuguese, I'm in the process of becoming fluent in Spanish, and I have a standard high school level understanding of French.
