Where to Eat in Buffalo

Many of you know I’m from Buffalo and I grew up here, so I thought I would write about my go-to places to dine when eating out. Buffalo has a variety of foods to choose from - everything from seafood to chicken wings to beef-on-weck and in between. Here are my top places to eat that have more to offer than just chicken wings.

1. Imperial Pizza

Located in South Buffalo (my hometown) Imperial Pizza, in my opinion, is the best pizza you’ll find in Buffalo (sorry Mom & Dad). Besides pizza however, they have your typical pub food such as chicken wings, subs, chicken fingers, salads, tacos, sandwiches and more. They have great service with cheap prices.

2. (716) Food and Sport

Located in the Harbor Center next to canalside, (716) Food and Sport is a relatively new restaurant with a unique eating experience. It contains walls of televisions to watch the game and several options on where to sit. Food-wise, (716) offers burgers, sandwiches, mac & cheese, seafood, tacos, wings, salads, pizza and others. (716) is definitely a go-to to eat watch the game with friends.

3. Jim's Steakout

With various locations throughout Buffalo, Jim’s Steakout is great if you’re looking for a late night snack. Most locations are open until 5am and serve anything from subs, chicken fingers, hoagies, tacos & wraps, sandwiches, fries and more.

4. Mighty Taco

With 24 locations in Buffalo, Mighty Taco is the favorite for Mexican style food. They have tacos, burritos, burrito bowls, fajitas, salads and even meatless options. This is my go-to if I’m craving burritos.

5. Pearl Street Grill and Brewery

Located on Pearl St. in walking distance of canalside, Pearl Street Grill and Brewery is unique for making their own beers right in the restaurant itself. Besides beer however. Pearl Street serves salads, soups, sandwiches, burgers, pizza, pasta, steak and much more. Pearl Street is great for groups and has something to offer for everyone.

6. Encore

If you’re looking for steak, seafood or sushi, Encore is the place. Located on Pearl St. across from Shea’s Performing Arts Center, Encore is famous for their sushi bar. They have everything from Maki Rolls, to Sashimi and several specialty rolls. Beside sushi they also have soups & salads, burgers, sandwiches, chicken fingers, pasta, seafood and of course, steak.

7. Elmwood Taco & Subs (ETS)

A close second of mine to Mighty Taco, ETS serves a variety of tacos and subs. They have tacos, burritos, enchiladas, quesadillas, chicken tenders, as well as hot & cold subs.

8. Chef's Restaurant

If you’re looking for Italian, Chef’s is Buffalo’s favorite. Located on Seneca St near Larkin Square, Chef’s is the Italian place. They serve soup, salads and every kind of pasta you can think of (I always go for the Spaghetti Parmesan). They even have veal, chicken and many types of sandwiches.

9. Pano's

Located on Elmwood Avenue, Pano’s is a popular Greek-styled restaurant to go to for breakfast, but they also serve lunch and dinner. They have almost every kind of breakfast food you can think of such as pancakes. eggs (any way), waffles, sausage, milkshakes, smoothies and more. For lunch or dinner, they serve souvlaki, salad, wraps, seafood, steak, sandwiches and many more.

10. Taffy's

Taffy’s, although located a bit outside of buffalo in Orchard Park, is famous for their wide assortment of the 104 milkshake flavors. Some of these flavors include chocolate, pumpkin spice, banana, “big kahuna”, “merry berry”, mango, cookies ‘n cream, salted caramel, “funky-monkey” and others. Besides milkshakes, they also serve hot dogs, fries, hamburgers, cheeseburgers, chicken fingers and more.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
