When Your Sister Gets Engaged
Lizzy Schumacher

My sister Morgan is two and a half years older than me, but I swear the doctors got it wrong when they wrote our birth dates on our birth certificates. If you were to ask us how many times people have asked us if we're twins, the number would be too many to count.

So, being that she is basically, but not biologically, my twin, you can bet that we have done everything together.

There's one certain thing that we've always enjoyed doing the most though, and that is fantasizing about our future wedding rings, weddings, husbands, and families. There have been countless days when we have scrolled through "wedding ideas" on Pinterest for three hours straight.

Being the youngest sister, I have always been protective of my three beautiful older sisters, so I never believed a man would be deserving of one of them. But that all began to change three years ago.

It was Christmas break when my sister, Morgan, began talking about this guy she had met. The entire break she slipped his name into every conversation. And I mean every conversation.

We went on a drive to go stargazing on a country road by our house and somehow the conversation of, "Wow. Can you even believe how beautiful the sky is right now?" turned into, "Wow. Lizzy, I can't even believe how perfect this guy is." So, I rolled with it.

Little did I know that night that this "mystery man" she was talking about would be the one she was going to spend the rest of her life with.

The first time I met Gus and saw the way he adored my sister, I knew this relationship was going to be one to last. Over the course of three years, he's not only been her best friend, but he's also become one of my best friends. I'm honestly not sure if I text her or him more now, but that's beside the point.

This past weekend those Pinterest searches my sister and I spent hours on, finally became reality for her. The man of her dreams got down on one knee and asked to marry her.

Moments later, Morgan and Augustine called our family, and the happiness that was in their voices is a sound that will ring through my ears forever.

As I write this, I can't help but smile knowing my sister, Morgan is going to be marrying her (and my) best friend, Augustine. So, here's to you, Morgan and Augustine, on being engaged and having a lifetime of endless happiness ahead. We could not be more excited for the beautiful things to come for your life together!

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
