A lot of things happen when your best friend is a male and you're a female.

Such as, making friends with his friends and having more guy friends than girl friends. Being protective over each other with everyone.

You have an older brother figure, even if you don't have siblings or brothers. They are someone you can count on for anything and can go to for anything, no matter what.

They care about you, laugh with you, laugh at you sometimes, and they always tell you the truth.

Your family and their family will always think you're dating or that you should date. And yes, it will be awkward EVERY single time. But you get used to it and just brush it off.

You get to interact with their family members and think of their family as your family. People you can turn to whenever.

You can be yourself around them and know they won't think of you any less or as weird or crazy.

If they weren't in your life, you don't know what you would do. And you can't picture them not being there.

Everything you do, you want them a part of it, and with anything amazing or good or exciting or important that happens in your life, they're the first one you want to tell or go to.

So trust me, it may be weird and awkward at times, but having a guy as your best friend is the best thing you could ever do. It is the best thing I have in my life and I wouldn't trade him for anyone or anything.
