It is said that either in high school or in college you will meet your long term friends. Many young adults find their long term friends in college, and some even find their best friend in college. But have you ever wonder why your best friend is your best friend? Well maybe because:
- The two of you begin to laugh even when there is nothing to laugh at.
- You get excited when you see your best friend and vice versa.
- The two of you text each other (almost) every day.
- The two of you have your own language.
- The two of you are always making fun of each other.
- The two of you like and dislike all the same people.
- You call each other twins.
- You may feel a little jealous when you see your best friend hanging out with someone else.
- Laughing becomes a second language to you both.
- If your best friend is lying, you can tell.
- There’s always competition.
- You surprise your friend on their birthday with the best present ever.
- If people ask the two of you if you are more than friends.
- You get mad at each other and then makeup in the same minute.
- You do almost everything together.
- They will tell you if you have something in between your teeth or even worse, a bogey.
- You are always taking selfies together.
- There is no such thing as awkward silence between the two of you.
- Your friend knows when to not talk to you when you're having a bad day.
- Life just isn’t better without them.
Finding a best friend is hard and when you find that person, you better stick with them as long as you can. Whether your best friend was found in elementary school or at the college level, that friend of yours will know you best than you will know yourself. As Emily Wing Smith said “being soaked alone is cold. Being soaked with your best friend is an adventure.”
