In today's world, anxiety and worry are problems that a lot of people deal with. I know that I am affected by anxiety, and sometimes, I let it control me. Whether it's anxiety or worry about school, money, or relationships, no matter what gives you anxiety or worry, here are some words of encouragement and Bible verses to help you deal.
Philippians 4:6-7 says, "Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, present your request to God. And the peace of God which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Jesus Christ."
John 13:7 says, "You do not realize now what I am doing, but later you will understand." Just remember that if you start to worry about the future, God has a plan for you, and He will have your back through everything.
1 Peter 5:7 states, "Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you."
John 14:27 states, "Peace I leave you; my peace I give you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid."
Rick Warren once said, "The more you pray, the less you'll panic. The more you worship, the less you worry. You'll feel more patient and less pressuredA friend once sent me this prayer that helps me get through when I feel that my anxiety is taking me over: "Dear Loving Lord, I am feeling stressed, I am worried, Too many things occupy my mind. Won't you help me? Show me Lord, your order and your plans are eternal and let me trust in your will alone, your word tells me, where there is love, there is no fear. Let me be filled, with your love, the perfect love that tells me, I am not condemned but I am saved. I can do all things through you. You strengthen me. In Jesus name, Amen."
Jesus loves you. He is your rock and your refuge, and He will listen to you in your darkest of times as well as your happiest times. Turn to Him, and He will listen and He will comfort.
No matter what happens, there are people in your life that love you and care for you. They don't care that you bombed a test, or that you don't have the money to go out with them. They care more about you as a person and love you, no matter what. Lean on these people, and they will help you through your hard times.
Just remember, when the pressures and worry of the days get to you, always know that God and your support system, whoever that may be in your life, love you more than how much money you make, what you are wearing, or what grade you make on a test.
