The Boy You Want Doesn't Want You, Stop Falling

Guys are worst than girls when it comes to relationships.

News flash, Justin Bieber. Guys are worst than girls, so I'm calling BS on "What Do You Mean." You see, Justin Bieber thinks girls are supposed to be the indecisive ones, except it's the other way around when it comes to being in a relationship.

How can you tell a girl you want her and only her, see her exclusively, take her on dates, and then 6 months into it, tell her you're not ready for a relationship? But then you tell her you don't want to lose her?

You originally got together to see how it would go, and things have been going great for half a year. The girl eventually decides she wants to establish your relationship, and you're not on the same page. So you break it off. Okay, fine, nothing wrong with that. But don't go crying to her because you're breaking it off with her, saying you want to be with her but you just can't. What do you mean?!

You compare yourself to tragically heroic character of a drama, who has to break it off with his girl to protect her safety or the bad guys will take her hostage. How is it the same at all? You say you can't provide everything she deserves, so you would rather break it off than figure things out together. She has happily taken trips to McDonald's and spent nights downtown with the other guys. All she asks for is commitment.

If you say that it's not the right time to be in a relationship because you can't provide everything the girl deserves, and the only thing important to her is commitment, something sounds plain shady. You're not the main character of a drama; this is real life and you're messing with another human being's emotions.

In the event that you absolutely can't be with the girl for reasons that can't be explained DON'T DRAG HER AROUND. You're scared she'll actually move on from you if you completely let her go, so you try to keep her just close enough that she can't let go. You say let's stop hanging out so we can distance ourselves, but then a week later say let's talk so we can reach closure, and with the intentions of drawing her back in when it comes to the talk.

Well guess what? You're only going to end up hurting yourself in the end. You're playing yourself. Not only is she going to get over you, but it's not going to be pretty. Say goodbye of a chance of being together when "the time is finally right." You were better off just telling her straight up that you can't reciprocate her feelings or that you don't see a future with her. Just say what you actually mean without half-ass excuses, please.

Think about when you were a kid, about to sit in a chair, and someone pulled the chair from underneath you so you fell flat on your butt. That's the comparison you should be using, boys. The girl is more like the fool trying to sit down than the damsel in distress from the tv show you watch. Maybe you should focus more on pushing a girl's chair in if you actually care about her.

Girls may not know how to pick a restaurant for dinner, but at least they know how to say yes or no to a relationship.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
