When Did It Become Cool To Tear Others Down?

On the inside, we're all the same, and we all deserve respect.

Today, we live in a cruel world filled with more hate than love. It's almost as if it has become cool to make others feel bad about themselves. Which is definitely not okay. Girls, we fight over the dumbest reasons and tear others apart as if it is supposed to make us feel better about ourselves. I think that we need to put a stop to it. Its getting old and it was never really cool to begin with.

Being cruel to someone just because they're different or don't agree with the things you believe in does not mean you have the right to treat them like the dirt under your feet. It is the same thing with the racial issues that are currently overtaking the world. The color of someone's skin should not determine the amount of respect they get. We all deserve equal respect because we are all human and should be treated kindly.

We should be relying on God more. He can fix anything, whether it be a school bullying problem or terrorist attacks on the great nation in which we live. We need to put Him at the center of all our lives again.

Life has become more about materialistic things than the things that actually matter. No, we do not need the newest iPhone, and no, we do need to look better than our boyfriends' ex everyday. What we do need is kind hearts, genuine respect for authority and our peers, and appreciation for the people who are always there for us. When is the last time you hugged your parents and thanked them for all that they do? Trust me when I say they do more for you than you think. We should start being more aware of other peoples' feelings and think about what we say before we actually say it. Words hurt more than you think.

People should not feel that suicide is the only way to escape our hurtful words. We should be making life enjoyable for each other. Our classmates shouldn't be dreading school because they're afraid of being teased. Don't you see a problem there? People are afraid to live life the way they want out of fear of being judged and humiliated. Let's make a change and be better people. It's up to us to make America great again.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
