This past weekend I surprised my best friend at the University she attends. While there, I began to notice the way all of her friends treated me like I was the boyfriend they’ve been hearing about. Here are ten times when we took our friendship to a different level.
- 1.The thought of not seeing each other for months is unbearable - Honestly, it’s just cruel. Why didn’t you two choose the same school again?
- 2.You get jealous when you see them tagged in photos with their friends from school with captions like “best friends!” and “favorite people!” – She’s MY best friend. I’m her favorite person.
- 3.Visiting her at her school is the most emotional reunion you’ve ever experienced in your life - You’ve never been so nervously overexcited for something in your life. Will her friends like me? Will I like them?
- 4.You almost always hold hands when you walk somewhere - You haven’t touched her hand in months! Is it different? Is that freckle new?
- 5.Pants are never an option when laying around the dorm - Let’s face it, they never are an option but if anyone came in at the wrong moment I could see how he or she might get the wrong idea.
- 6.All of her friends become emotionally invested in your friendship after witnessing your tearful reunion - All of the girls you’ve Facebook stalked and heard stories about turned out to be just as cool and fun in real life. Your jealousy begins to fade only because you know the girls now. They now know your place in her heart.
- 7.You have countless snuggle sessions and make time “just for you two” - Hanging out and meeting people is a blast but what is really important is that sandwich and “you” time you two share in the morning.
- 8.You rarely ever bicker or fight because the time you get to spend together is so precious and rare - Even when your bags are taking up too much space and she’s hogging the blanket, you let it go because it’s HER that’s hogging the blanket. You’re together!
- 9.When visiting each other you share ANYTHING and EVERYTHING - You didn’t even bother bringing deodorant or toothpaste. You also go straight to her closet before going out and not the overstuffed duffel bag you lugged with you.
- 10.Saying goodbye after the weekend is over is like having your heart ripped out - The weekend is over already? When are you going to see each other again? The tears well up in your eyes, but you act strong. Plus, Facetime was invented for a reason.
