17 Things That Happen When You Have A Long Distance Bestie

If you have a long-distance bestie, you know the constant struggle of communicating when you're never together, having separate lives from each other, and not having them by your side when all you need is a hug. But even if they're not always physically by your side, they're always emotionally there. Your long-distance bestie is your go-to person, and when you're together it's like no time has passed. Here are some things that happen when you have a long-distance bestie.

1. You constantly miss them.

2. You only ever fight because you're just sad that you're not together.

3. You can tell them anything without fear of judgement because there's nothing in the world that could tear you apart.

4. You're always brutally honest with them.

5. Your friendship is often confused for a relationship.

6. They know more about you than anyone else and still love you.

7. When you're bored you like and comment on all of their old Instagram pics.

8. You're beyond jealous when you see a picture of them on Facebook or Instagram with their other besties.

9. And for a minute, you think they've replaced you. But in the end, you know that you're still they're bestie over anyone else.

10. You text them "I miss you" daily. And when they don't answer within a minute, you feel like you're breaking up.

11. The weirdest things remind you of them. "I saw someone eating a Hershey's kiss today and it reminded me of the time in eighth grade that we went to Hershey Park and you were so scared to go on the roller coaster."

12. Everyone else comes second when you're talking to them.

13. It sucks when you aren't there to hold them back from doing something really, really stupid, so you lecture them via text and hope it works.

14. You make these extravagant plans for when you visit each other, but then you end up doing nothing because doing nothing together is better than doing something with anyone else.

15. You're never happier than when you're together. And no matter how long it's been, it's as if no time had ever passed.

16. When your weekend together is over, your life is actually over.

17. Finally, no matter the distance, you know that they'll always be there for you. They're your soul mate forever.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
