The Masters takes place at Augusta National Gulf Club that has some crazy rules:
1) No women: August has been open for over 75 years and has never admitted a female. The first African-American member was accepted in 1990.
2) No Membership Applications: You do not apply to be a part of August National, you get nominated by a current member and that current member can only nominate you if someone else leaves the club. The club has a steady membership of about 300.
3) Caddys must wear white jumpsuits: I get why they all have to wear the same uniform, but I dont get why it has to be white.
4) No running: Those who watch and move from course to course can not run, which makes sense because the sport is all about silence and patience.
5) No Phones, Cameras, or Electronic Devices: Now this is eventually going to have to change because of how prevalent social media is in promoting the Masters. When our grandparents and parents generation dies out, golf might die out if it does not adapt to the technology around us.
6) No autographs: Players are not allowed to be approached. I get why this rule is in place, but the players become more popular the more they interact with fans; and if they aren't allowed to sign autographs, how are they doing it.
7) No tickets: The first tickets are passed down through families.
8) No backwards hats: This is ridiculous because one of the styles of wearing a baseball hat is backwards.
