What's The Deal With Golf?

As the Masters start this week and Tiger Woods makes his big return, those of us who only really know about mini-golf may want to learn a thing or two about real golf.

What's The Deal With Golf?

Do you even know who is playing in the 2015 Masters? I don't (especially those who might not be from the United States)!

There are several international players including:

Mikko Ilonen (Finland)

Gunn Yang (Korea), Seung-Yul Noh (Korea), Sangmoon Bae (Korea)

Thomas Bjorn (Denmark)

Ian Woosnam (Wales), Jamie Donaldson (Wales)

Danny Willett (England), Lee Westwood (England), Justin Rose (England), Ian Poulter (England), Luke Donald (England), Paul Casey (England)

Bernd Wiesberger (Austria)

Joost Luiten (Netherlands)

Matias Dominguez (Chile)

Mike Weir (Canada), Corey Conners (Canada)

Hideki Matsuyama (Japan)

Bradley Neil (Scotland), Sandy Lyle (Scotland), Stephen Gallacher (Scotland)

Camilo Villegas (Colombia)

Victor Dubuisson (France)

Henrik Stenson (Sweden), Jonas Blixt (Sweden)

Vijay Singh (Fiji)

John Senden (Australia), Adam Scott (Australia), Geogg Ogilvy (Australia), Antonio Murdaca (Australia), Jason Day (Australia)

Charl Schwartzel (South Africa), Louis Oosthuizen (South Africa), Trevor Immelman (South Africa), Branden Grace (South Africa), Ernie Els (South Africa)

Jose Maria Olazabal (Spain), Miguel Angel Jimenez (Spain), Sergio Garcia (Spain)

Rory McIlroy (Northern Ireland), Graeme McDowell (Northern Ireland), Darren Clarke (Northern Ireland)

Shane Lowry (Ireland), Padraig Harrington (Ireland)

Bernhard Langer (Germany), Martin Kaymer (Germany)

Anirban Lahiri (India)

Thongchai Jaidee (Thailand)

Angel Cabrera (Argentina)

The Masters takes place at Augusta National Gulf Club that has some crazy rules:

1) No women: August has been open for over 75 years and has never admitted a female. The first African-American member was accepted in 1990.

2) No Membership Applications: You do not apply to be a part of August National, you get nominated by a current member and that current member can only nominate you if someone else leaves the club. The club has a steady membership of about 300.

3) Caddys must wear white jumpsuits: I get why they all have to wear the same uniform, but I dont get why it has to be white.

4) No running: Those who watch and move from course to course can not run, which makes sense because the sport is all about silence and patience.

5) No Phones, Cameras, or Electronic Devices: Now this is eventually going to have to change because of how prevalent social media is in promoting the Masters. When our grandparents and parents generation dies out, golf might die out if it does not adapt to the technology around us.

6) No autographs: Players are not allowed to be approached. I get why this rule is in place, but the players become more popular the more they interact with fans; and if they aren't allowed to sign autographs, how are they doing it.

7) No tickets: The first tickets are passed down through families.

8) No backwards hats: This is ridiculous because one of the styles of wearing a baseball hat is backwards.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
