We are all guilty of posting photos or videos on our Snapchat stories with an ulterior motive. The app can be used for a myriad of things, like revenge, flirting, showing off, or just plain having fun with face swap. With all the stickers, emojis, filters and affects, the possibilities are endless. From the flower crown and geo-filters to panoramic videos — find out what your story says about you, and what your true intention might be.
1. The flower crown/dog filter.
You are honestly just feeling your look. You want everyone to see that you made an effort to look #onfleek so bad but aren’t quite bold enough for just the straight up selfie. Stick some flowers on your head or a dog nose and tongue and wait for the snap from your ex saying he wants you back — because dang it, you look good.
2. The sunset snap.
Because we haven't seen it both with our own eyes and on 60 other stories. Also we have no idea what time the sun sets.
3. The "look at all my friends" snap video.
The classic panoramic video of all your friends smiling and making silly faces at the camera, or acting totally candid and carrying on with eating or talking or whatever even though they know you're filming them. Three seconds ago you said, "Act natural guys, I'm taking a snap." Guilty.
4. The "I'm eating really good food" snap.
After arranging your fork and water glass neatly around your entrée, you snap a pic of your meal because it looks awesome. Usually, it's Chipotle or sushi. Sometimes, if they're lucky, you snap a pic of your date, too. #Datenight
5. The "I'm hiding something promiscuous under this giant emoji sticker" snap.
But it's still obviously a beer, or something. You are not fooling anyone, except the rest of your drunk friends. When precariously placed, though, it can be tasteful and even funny.
6. The opposite of the former.
I love alcohol! I love parties! Keep watching, I'll prove it to you! The incoherent bass booms in the background but everyone seems to be singing along anyway.
7. The geo-filter snap.
This says either: "I'm somewhere really cool" or, "I want you to notice that I am close to you in proximity." It does all the talking, no caption necessary.
8. The "Starbucks cup in front of the steering wheel with my nails done" snap.
You know exactly what I'm talking about. And it typically has a caption like "finally" or, "much needed."
9. The "hot dogs or legs" snap.
Self-explanatory and very common this time of year.
10. And my personal favorite: "I'm just posting this just so someone I'm mad at sees" snap.
